This Friday at 7:30 pm we will be having a team night at Buffalo Wild Wings.  This will
be a great chance to come meet team members and to have fun before finals.

All are welcome.  We will try our best to get our own little section of the restaurant.

Due to daylight savings times and the fact that is it getting dark early, scheduled training rides are done for the year.

We will be starting regular winter work-outs soon. Check back soon on the training page for winter training schedules.

If you would like to lead a regular winter work-out (i.e. weightlifting, trainer party, trail run, stair work-out), contact Brendan at bensonb at umich(dot)edu and he will get your workout added to the training page.

Last weekend, a team of 6 men and 1 woman from the club traveled to Banner Elk, NC for Collegiate MTB Nationals.

The whole race weekend turned out being some of the muddiest conditions any of us had ridden in, as it had rained for a week straight before the races.

Our team did well as Mike Bartlett, the 2007 Midwest Collegiate Cycling Conference Champion, posted the best results for the team with 25th in the Cross Country and 13th in the Short Track.

Other finishers of the cross country were Mattison Brady in  52nd and Brendan Benson and Nick Boswell rode in together in 55th and 56th.  Lizzie Yarina finished 41st in the Women’s race.  In Short Track, Brendan Benson finished 34th, Sean Murphy finished 43rd, Nick Boswell finished 48th, and Lizzie finished 41st.

For gravity, Al Ogdon finished 51st in the downhill Event and 30th in the Dual Slalom event.

Overall, the team placed 15th out of 38 teams and Mike Bartlett 19th out of 127 men.

Congratulations to all and great job to the whole team for a great MTB season!

We are now starting our clothing order for the 2008 season.

We are ordering clothing from Nalini Custom this year and the design will be the same as last year, with some sponsor changes. Color will be blue with yellow Block M and writing (sorry to those who voted yellow with blue, but we lost).

All orders are due on October 25, 2007 (note for paper orders, they must be in my PO Box by this date). No late orders will be accepted. Finally, these orders will be in early next year, so they will not be available by Christmas.

Wednesday October, 10 Nick Will be hosting a pasta dinner at his place in preparation for Regionals. Nalini (our clothing supplier for the 2008 year) samples will also be available to try on. Everyone is welcome, even non-MTB racers. E-mail Nick (nboswell at umich(dot)edu) by Tuesday at 10 pm and he will tell you where he lives then.

Price is $3 for pasta if you want it. You can come late if you want/need to. Also bring a checkbook, because we will be taking orders for clothing at this time.

6:30 pm, Nalini fitting starts

Collegiate cyclists from all over the Midwest competed in the University of Michigan mountain bike race on September 29th and 30th. Mike Bartlett of the University of Michigan won the Men’s overall for the weekend while Lisa Spreitzer of Michigan Tech took the Women’s field.
